Welcome to the GarasuNoShiCon 2010 information page!
GarasuNoShiCon is the Toledo area's premiere Japanese anime convention. It's a two day event beginning Saturday, July 17th at 10 am to 11 pm, and July 18th, from 10 am to 6 pm at Owens Community College in Perrysburg, Ohio. Admission is free and it's open to anyone!
7/15/2010: ATTENTION STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS
The following is the setup schedule:
Thursday - We will be meeting up at 6pm for training, assignment placements, some setup, and whatever else needs done.
Friday - We will be meeting up at 3pm for setup. Later we will open the doors to vendors who wish to setup the night before. This is our big setup day so being here is vital!
Saturday - Convention day! Staff reports at 8AM. Doors open to the public at 10am. Convention runs until midnight, but some minor setup/cleaning might need to be done for the next day.
Sunday - Convention day! Staff reports at 8AM. Doors again will open at 10am to the public. Convention will close at 6pm. We have to put all desks, chairs, tables, everything back to the way it was for classes on Monday!! This means from 6pm to whenever you must stick around to help out. If you have to leave by a certain time then fine, let us know. We really don't need a handful of people staying until 3 am again.
Plan on meeting at the Main Event Room (AVCC 125).

There has been some confusion as of late regarding the badges and cost. Remember: admission is free, and you don't need a badge to get in. We sell souvenir badges for $3 at the convention. The Pre-Reg Packs offer a pre-printed badge and other goodies listed on the Registration page, but it's not required that you pay to pre-reg! A new form with a different layout has been uploaded to help avoid confusion!

Vendors and Artists: your applications and down-payments are due June 11th. Even if we've sent in an application, if we don't have your down-payment, your name will be removed from the website and you will not be mentioned in the program book. Payments received after June 11th are still eligible to have table space and we will try to promote you as best we can, but we can't make any assurances.
5/19/2010: We are also pleased to welcome Manifested Dreams and LiXLeo to Artist Alley! Please support them by paying a visit to their table and purchasing something!
A friendly reminder: if you're planning on signing up for Vendor Venue or Artist Alley, time is running out! Down payments must be received by June 11th to receive mention in the program, after that, there are no guarantees! We'll try to work something out for late arrivals, but the longer you wait, the harder it will be to get you into the con! Sign up now!
