Welcome to the GarasuNoShiCon 2009 webpage!
GarasuNoShiCon is the Toledo area's premiere Japanese anime convention. It's a two day event beginning Saturday, May 30th at 10 am to 11 pm, and May 31st, from 10 am to 6 pm at Owens Community College in Perrysburg, Ohio. Admission is free and it's open to anyone! Check out the Location section for exact details.
May 13, 2009: The Maid Cafe hours have been extended to 2 PM and scaled back to offer a larger variety of Japanese snacks for your munching pleasure!
Please note the Art Show has been canceled due to lack of participation.
May 6, 2009: A quick update to our Events. We have some specifics on our Super Smash Bros. Melee and In the Groove tournaments posted.
May 4, 2009: The Events page has been updated to show almost everything that's going on at the convention, including days and times so you can get a start on planning your convention experience! Rules of the gaming rooms have also been posted.
In addition, a contact phone number can be found in in the Info section just in case you haven't received replies to our e-mails if you tried to sign up for something.
It's been secretly posted, but we've stopped accepting new vendors. If you're an artist, however, we have a couple of spots left for you!
April 15, 2009: We've added a number of new vendors and artists to our ranks for a total of fifteen! Welcome to our dealers! Be sure to come out and support them! For a complete list, check out our Vendors page!
We've made some changes to the Cosplay rules to better define what we'll be judging. Check out this page if you're going to be joining the Cosplay Contest!
We're pleased to welcome Gavin Goszka to the convention! He'll be performing an acoustic set of popular anime songs, sung in Japanese and English, on late Saturday afternoon! Check out the Guests page for more information!
Mock-ups of the convention hear we'll be offering can be found on the Con Gear page. Now you'll know how much money you'll need to bring (hint: MORE)!
We've also extended the convention hours on Saturday from 9 PM to 11 PM, an extra two hours of anime bliss!
March 30, 2009: Information on the Living Forgotten Realms Open Play is now available on the Events page. Sign up today!
We're pleased to welcome Angelkitty Dreams to our Artist Alley!
We've also updated Big Uncle Fuku's look for your viewing revulsion
March 11, 2009: We're pleased to welcome the Salad Time Soldiers as our guests at GarasuNoShiCon 2009! They'll be performing for us on Saturday night, so be sure to come! Check out the Guests page for more information!
We've added a pre-registration page, so if you want to guarantee yourself a Con Pack in the unlikely disaster that we run out, you can pre-pay early and get some bonuses and savings! This is not to mention it helps us get an idea of the kind of attendance we're looking at. Check out the Registration page for more information!
We've also updated the Vendors page with some additions!
February 18, 2009: We're pleased to welcome Alex Heberling as a guest at GarasuNoShiCon 2009! Check out the Guests page for more information!
The Art Show rules have been posted, so if you want to show off your talents, please send in your work! You might even make some dough off of it!
A note to anyone interested in advertising with us, we've changed the options around slightly, so please read them before submitting a request.
January 27, 2009: There's been a bit of a change on the menu. We're offering a full-fledged advertising service for those who want to spread the word about their company or group. We're also offering convention gear, though don't bother checking the link, because we have to get the designs done.
Also on the docket, we're going to be serving authetnic Japanese food at the convention as part of a Maid Cafe. On that note, we need maids, so if you're interested, check out the Volunteer section for more info!
January 26, 2009: We finally have the site setup where it's supposed to be. Fukucon.info will send you straight to the proper site from now on, but if you want updates on possible future conventions, bookmark this page now!
January 21, 2009: The site is almost put together, save for the Support section. All of the information you'll need to get here at the right time is up, and vendors, artists, and guests have all they need to sign up for the action!
Of course, any comments or questions are welcome, but please look through the site before making a million of them and end up being referred to the site again!
One very important annoucement is the website address will be changing this week. The convention was originally named Fukucon, but for reasons only obvious to all but the most blinded fan (like myself), Owens forced a name change. The new address will be www.garasunoshicon.info, and we'll be loading the files over as soon as the site registration is done, but we thought we'd mention it. Check out the Info section for more, well, info.
